Email receipt is a function provided by Email Client, not server. Not all email client support this. It is not reliable and confusing. It can even be turned off by user in their Email Client.

Return mail has all the information explaining why an email is rejected. It helps us to debug. Most people ignore and didn’t bother to read it.

Should use Sendspace.com so you dont jam up someone s mailbx

You should mark read only after action taken, like Reply, Forward, etc. Not by timing.

If you dont hit Reply All, the Cc list will gone. Discussion break down.

Auto responder should be smart. It should be triggered once.
